Hutchison PLLC, a well-established and highly regarded boutique corporate law firm headquartered in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an Employment Law Associate with two to seven years’ experience to join its dynamic team. Hutchison’s associates are a vital part of the firm, engaging in hands-on drafting, negotiating, and day-to-day client communication on a daily basis. In addition to working with amazing colleagues, in this position you’ll assist clients who are industry leaders (particularly in the tech and biotech sectors) and are working on interesting and impactful technologies.
Ideal candidates will possess stellar academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in working with growth companies and experience drafting employment documents and handling employment matters for corporate clients. Some areas of experience that are a (huge) plus for this position are:
- Day-to-day employment matters including employment and consulting agreements, offer letters, terminations, severance and exit agreements;
- Representing clients with regard to employee terminations, workplace investigations, and employment claims made with government agencies;
- Equity and option compensation for service providers;
- Advising clients on compliance with applicable employment laws and drafting employment policies and handbooks; and
- Day-to-day corporate experience including counseling clients, drafting consents, and reviewing contracts is helpful, but not required.
A North Carolina bar license is highly preferred; the ability to become licensed in NC is required.
