Client Alert: New Corporate Transparency Act Mandates Full Disclosure of Beneficial Owners to FinCEN by January 1, 2025

Under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), existing companies must report information regarding the company and its beneficial owners to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a division of the U.S. Treasury Department, no later than January 1, 2025. The failure to file this information can result in civil and criminal penalties.

Corporate and beneficial ownership information can be reported directly to FinCEN using the FinCEN e-filing system. FinCEN has prepared a Small Entity Compliance Guide to making this filing. We have also prepared a summary of these filing requirements that can be found using the link below:
