He will be a strong resource and advisor to Florida’s emerging and mature companies, and to the investors in those companies.”

Matthew Gabriel’s practice focuses on representing private and public companies and investment funds in all aspects of investment and corporate activities, including equity investments and financings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, joint ventures, executive compensation and startup formation. He joins Hutchison Law Group after serving as Vice President at Sandbox Industries, a Chicago-based venture capital and incubation firm. At Sandbox, Matt was part of the fund management team for BlueCross BlueShield Venture Fund, a $340 million corporate venture fund, and co-founder of HealthBox, an early-stage healthcare-focused accelerator program. Prior to his work with BlueCross BlueShield Venture Fund, Matt was a Senior Associate in the corporate/private equity group of Kirkland and Ellis LLP.

Matt earned his bachelor's degree in Philosophy cum laude from Rollins College and his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. Matt has also received distinguished recognition as an "Illinois Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine.
