Hutchison Law Group Expands with Opening of Virginia Office

Hutchison Law Group, a leading provider of strategic business and intellectual property counsel to the Southeast’s life science and technology communities, announced today that Ken Maready has joined the firm and will oversee its newly-formed office in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Maready, a seasoned legal advisor with more than 10 years of experience, worked as an associate at Hutchison Law Group from 2002-2005. He later went on to serve as General Counsel & Director of Strategic Affairs at venture-backed Integrian, Inc. Following his tenure at Integrian, Maready relocated to Blacksburg and established a practice serving entrepreneurs and startups in Blacksburg and Roanoke.

“This expansion is a natural move for us, as Virginia regularly launches the kinds of technology-based innovative companies that we serve, particularly in the areas around its leading research universities, including Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia. We are excited to join with Ken in contributing to the continued growth of these entrepreneurial communities,” said Hutchison Law Group Member Helga Leftwich.

Maready earned his B.A and J.D., magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the law review. He provides legal counsel to entrepreneurs and technology companies, primarily regarding corporate, securities, contract and intellectual property issues, with a particular emphasis on startups, spinouts and angel or venture financings.
